About the net worth tracker

Net worth is the one number that summarises your finances: everything you own minus everything you owe. Track it over time and you see instantly whether your plan is working — income, spending, investing, and debt all show up in one line.

Add assets and liabilities in any currency, get an allocation breakdown across equity, debt, gold, real estate, and cash, and let the FIRE calculator use your real numbers as its starting point.

The formula

Net worth = total assets − total liabilities. A ₹80 lakh portfolio with a ₹30 lakh home loan outstanding is a ₹50 lakh net worth — the loan matters as much as the portfolio.

Why it matters for FIRE

Your FIRE progress is measured in net worth, not income. Someone earning less but investing consistently routinely passes a higher earner who spends it — the tracker makes that visible month by month.

What you get

Total assets, total liabilities, and net worth with a visual split; an asset-allocation bar; and a history chart of your net worth over time as you update it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my net worth?

Add up everything you own (bank balances, investments, property, gold), subtract everything you owe (loans, credit card balances, EMIs outstanding). What remains is your net worth — the single best summary of your financial position.

What counts as an asset?

Anything with resale value or that produces money: savings and deposits, mutual funds and stocks, EPF/PPF, real estate, gold. Most planners exclude the car and household items since they depreciate and you would not sell them to fund retirement.

Should I include my home in my net worth?

Include it in total net worth, but track your "investable" net worth separately — you have to live somewhere, so your primary home cannot fund your retirement withdrawals. Fire Finance shows an allocation breakdown so you can see both.

How often should I update my net worth?

Monthly or quarterly is plenty. The direction over years matters far more than day-to-day moves. Fire Finance keeps a history so you can watch the trend, not the noise.

Is my financial data private?

Yes. Everything you enter is stored locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded unless you create an account and turn on cloud sync. We never connect to your bank.
